The Sapper 300 – Redux Mk II.
The Original Sapper 300 T-Shirt, was designed obviously in 2016, at that time we agreed with a Forces Owned and Run T-Shirt Company, who were somewhat secretive at the time, as we understand it they were a group of Royal Marines, RAF Regiment and Others and went by the awesome name of ‘Moose-Jam tactical’. The Sapper 300 main image is still ‘Inspired By’ the amazing El Alamein painting by the brilliant military artist Terence Cuneo, and with this in mind we made several changes to the original much for the better.
We have taken out the RE Cap Badge and replaced with the SAPPERS title and we have added a very nice “little” Dedication to the life of Terence Cuneo, in almost all his paintings he would add a tiny little mouse figure, usually dressed up and doing something relevant to the painting, in our case he is seen with his own little WWII Mine Detector and with the Years of Terence Cuneo Life below the mouse.
The Original Sapper 300 T-Shirt I produced actually sold several thousand and raised thousands for 2 or 3 different charities at that time, unfortunately we Sappers “Broke” Moose-jam Tactical! Before the Sapper 300 was launched they were used to producing platoon/troop/Sqn numbers of T-Shirts at a time and their business trickled along and they were happy, suddenly they had orders closing in 4000 within the first two days of the launch! They actually flew to Italy to view and purchase more printing machines to keep up with the demand.
After 2 weeks I received a phone call from a somewhat flustered RAF Regiment chap telling me “if they don’t stop phoning and emailing every few minutes asking where their Sapper 300 Tee is as it hasn’t arrived yet and they paid for it yesterday! Then we at Moose-Jam will stop with production” apparently they had more than 1000 calls and emails in the first few days and it eventually ‘Broke” them, they weren’t used to the high demand or the verbal abuse by thousands of Hairy Arsed Serving and Veteran Sappers, not only did they stop our production line but they disappeared altogether without a trace and 6 years on nothing has ever been heard from them again!
The Original T-Shirt was popular for the short time it was available but it had its’ faults, it was a Gildan T-Shirt, bit like Fruit of the Loom but tighter fitting and with little softness, the biggest fault was the fact Moose-Jam insisted on putting the designs on as Transfers! So after a few washes they would begin to peel and were nigh on destroyed after 6 months, but of course we had no one to complain about them to as the entire Moose-Jam management were on a Joint Camouflage & Concealment Exercise for the rest of their careers!
So, we come to the Re-Launch the Sapper 300 Redux Mk II, the design speaks for itself, many Sappers contacted us to tell us it was perfect so we have stuck to the Redux Design, the Mk II comes into effect with the T-Shirt Type we selected being a Quality Bella + Canvas, they are not too light like the Tri-Blends but they are as soft, they are Tough and Durable so even if you are a Tough Mudder Lunatic, sorry I mean ‘enthusiast’ you will not be able to destroy our T-Shirts during a race. The Printing is of Very High Quality and all Printing is Direct To Garment (DTG) it basically doesn’t wash out and it does not peel like a transfer! And probably the Best thing about the Sapper 300’s in the Guild Shop is they are available in a range of colours, just click on the drop box at the side to select which colour you want, you will get to see what it looks like also. They are also available in POM Sizes, or part of our FBS Range (Yes you’ve guessed it Fat Bastards Size 2XL and Above).
